A little while ago, when visiting my parents, my Mum mentioned that she'd like a new oven pad for the kitchen - her only other request being that it was mint in colour.
I went away mentally picking through my huge bag (and now under-bed drawers) of materials and could only come up with one lot of mint green in all that fabulous collection! When I got home and had a rummage I was proved right, I did only possess one pastel green piece of material and I'd used some for a Patchy Pockets. Luckily I had enough left to make the oven pad, with scraps of other pastel materials, buttons and little hearts and beads to make up a teapot on one side and a cupcake on the other.
I gave her the finished pad this week and she was thrilled with it. Here's some piccies for you:
I've had a two week break from making goodies for my shops as I was concentrating on making this for my Mum. The break has done me good actually, and I'm feeling ready to get sewing and making once again. It was lovely to find the "sales fairy" drop by my way a few times in April - gave me a really boost I must say.
